There are many benefits on why you should have your windows cleaned regularly. Here are some of them:
When your windows are not cleaned, overtime dust and dirt will settle onto the glass and when the wind blows on the window the contaminants that are on the glass will cross the surface. This is called ‘etching’ and overtime this degrades your windows. Therefore, it is important to have them cleaned regularly. Also, when the frames & ledges are not regularly cleaned, moss and algae develop. Having your sills cleaned regularly slows down the degradation of them and keeps insects and spiders forming nests and webs in the corners of the sills. This also stops them entering your home when your windows are open. Having your windows, frames, sills & surrounding areas cleaned will extend their life and save you money in the long run.
Cleaning the windows yourself may not be as beneficial as you think.
If you are using cleaning products on your windows, once the windows
dry the cleaning products can leave a slightly sticky residue left
behind. The residue that is left on you window attracts dirt and dust
that is traveling in the air and can leave your windows dirtier than
when you began to clean them.
If you are using tap water to clean your windows without the necessary
equipment you will leave water marks behind once the windows dry. This
is due to tap water having mineral contaminants in. Please see section
‘We use Pure Water’ to understand further detail.
You can clean your windows with tap water alongside a squeegee, washer
& microfiber cloths although, this requires a lot of time to perfect
your technique to avoid streaking/water marks. There is nothing worse
than realizing you have missed spots or left streaks behind after
washing your windows for hours. Not only does this take time and
technique to master, but you will also have to carry a ladder around
your house with a bucket of water to reach those top windows. You may
also have tricky windows such as ones over a roof or
conservatory/extension which are dangerous to get to. We suggest
avoiding this as you are at risk to damaging your back and your ladder
slipping.
When you have clean windows, this enables sunlight to penetrate
through the glass and onto objects in your room. The UV radiation that
the sun produces heats up your rooms once it passes through the
window.
When you have a layer of dirt on your windows this blocks the sun rays
from penetrating through the glass preventing the UV radiation to heat
up your room.
Having dirty windows means that you are blocking out the natural light
& colours from the outside world! Whether the view from your windows
is modest or not, a clean shiny window is more enjoyable to look out
of compared to a dirty one.
If you own a business, it is important to always have clean windows.
This is because clean windows make your property & business look more
professional and is more likely to invite customers in. When visiting
a business or shop, most people will pay attention to the cleanliness
of the glass front. If a shop front has dirty windows, this will
indicate a careless attitude and make a business seem less trustworthy
& attractive.
If you are selling your property, the buyer is most likely to decide
whether they want to buy your property in the first couple of minutes.
One of their first impressions will be the windows. Therefore, it is
very important to have them cleaned so it gives you the best chance of
selling your property, not to mention adding value!
Depending on where your property is this can impact how quickly the windows get dirty. A good example of this is if you are located next a busy street, a city, industrial park or if you have new development houses nearby. Your windows are going to get very dirty, very quickly which is why it is important to maintain them.
The water we use is called ‘Pure Water’. This is because it undergoes
two purification treatments which are Reverse Osmosis & De-Ionized.
There is a multitude of mineral contaminants in regular tap water so
If this water is used on the windows, then this would mean that once
the water dries and evaporates, the minerals would get left behind and
would be visible on your windows. This is called ‘streaking’ or
‘water-marks’.
However, because we run our water through two purification treatments,
this means that the water evaporates very quickly to a crystal clean &
clear finish which leaves no mineral contaminants & residue on the
windows.
We use a state-of-the-art system to clean your windows called the
‘Reach & Wash system’ and is the latest innovative method of cleaning
your windows.
The Reach & Wash system consists of as telescopic carbon fiber
composite pole with a connected brush head and water system, allowing
us to extend the pole to heights of up to 65 feet.
There is a water tube running through the pole which is connected to a
100m hose reel which delivers pure water from the tanks in the back of
our vans. This allows us to deliver our pure water to wash the windows
at almost level.
The Reach & Wash system allows for a more thorough clean of the
frames, sills & surrounding areas. With the traditional window
cleaning method, window cleaners normally clean the windowpane, a
brief clean and wipe of the sills and frames. If detergents are used,
this can attract more dirt quickly to your windows.
With the Reach & Wash System we can get into all the nooks and
crannies and ensure a thorough clean of the glass, frames, sills &
surrounding areas with the brush head, and the pure water means that
it will evaporate to leave a crystal clear and clean finish. Using a
carbon telescopic pole allows us to work safely at height.
Overtime, the combination of fallen leaves, twigs, moss, and other
debris can build up on your roof throughout the year. Gradually, this
debris makes its way into your gutter. Eventually, there will be too
much debris in your gutter, stopping the flow of rainwater and causing
it to get trapped in corners and downpipes.
Over time, leaves will decompose into a fertile compost, creating the
ideal habitat for seeds, moss, and weeds that have been carried by the
wind or dropped by birds onto the roof. If they grow unchecked, these
invasive weeds can take over your gutters and downpipes, obstructing
the normal flow of water, clogging the downpipe, and possibly
overflowing.
Prevent water damage:
Leaves and debris can clog gutters and downspouts, preventing
rainwater from draining properly. Overflowing water from gutters can
cause damage to inside and outside your home.
Protecting your roof:
If the gutters are clogged, rainwater has nowhere to go. If the water
continues to overflow, the roof can rot or leak.
Reduce the risk of a cracked foundation:
When water is blocked from traveling away from your home, it can
gather around the foundation of your house. When this happens in the
winter months, the pool of water will expand and freeze causing
cracking around the foundation.
Keeps pests from causing trouble:
Clogged gutters with leaves, moss and other debris makes it the
perfect home for birds, rodents & insects. This makes your gutters
high prone of a pest infection which is the last thing you will want.
Save your money:
Having your Gutters cleared can prevent future, unexpected and costly
projects. By having them cleaned regularly you are saving yourself
money in the long run.
